With a little more than a month to go, but really much less tournament time with all the upcoming holidays, it's crunch time in the Card Player Player of the Year race.  The award is marketable and reflects a full year of live tournament results on a sliding point scale.

Thomas Marchese remains in the lead, having gain extra points with his fifth-place finish in the $5,000 PokerStars North American Poker Tour bounty shootout.  The most notable player moving up the rankings was Vanessa Selbst who just won her second major title of the year in France to jump up to third place with 4,608 points.
