I was in Vegas over the weekend for a bachelor party and we headed to the Rio for a bit to see the WSOP. Although we didnt' buy tickets to get in, the atmoshpere around the conference rooms it was held in was pretty crazy and we did see kenneth James. My buddy even got a picture with him and he's fairly down to earth and chatted for a bit during a break. The highlight of the Rio was a completely unexpected event. We were grabbing some drinks and watching the live show in the casino when a guy drove buy on a motorized wheelchair. Who was the man, none other than Doyle Brunson. We weren't able to catch him to strike up a conversation or anything, but it was pretty cool to see him in person. As for my own poker play, I sat at a few 200 NL games and lost a few bucks and then finished off our weekend with a $500 NL session and walked off the table with $930 in a few hours (bought for $400). A great weekend and nice to get back to some live play after so much online.
It's easier to fish if you're the one casting the reel.

whats it like for underage players over there? theres a guy called erik ryland, im told he is going to be a excellent player, when he turns 21 that is. He has went to vegas for the series with Mattusow and Sheiky to grind it out in the cash games, but hes only 17! I was surprised to hear this, i thought they would crack down on this sort of thing, but maybe him having friends in high places is paying dividends?
Few Players recall big pots they have won - strange as it seems - but every player can remember with remarkable accuracy the outstanding tough beats of his career.
