Did it once.... Very particular situation!
8 players left I was second in chips with 250 000 T$ Chip leader was at 280 000 T$ Nobody had more than 65K beside me and CL Blinds were 2K/4K + antes
So I was virtualy sure to take 2nd place wich was 1500$ and 3000K for 1st position And 8th place was 75$
UTG go all in for 30K I call with AA CL reraise all in
I had to lay it down... if I call I lost 1:4 and take 75$ If fold I virtualy take 1500 woch is 20 times the price...
Belive it or not it was +EV to fold here!!!
KJ What place did you end up getting? There might be +EV to fold, but if you win the hand as you do in most cases your were more or less sure of winning the thing :)

With 3 or more all-in's behind me or with guaranteed tournament increase at stake i probably would fold AA. If you were in a situation against 4 pushers who each had 10's, J's, Q's, K's there's no way i'd push with AA, because someone will suckout.

You cannot fold AA pre-flop.

cash games...NEVER FOLD AA PF when you are +EV to fold in a tourney situation, FOLD! anything can happen post flop

Curious as to the call and not a raise to isolate the one all in. In a satellite example I can see the argument for the fold.
ciao for now

The fact is that AA is the best possible hand you can have preflop, but also the fact is that my PockerTracker tells me that I made more wins (in percentage) with KK, QQ, AKs, AQs than with AA. I have seen it many times, when I lost with AA against 99, 77, 33 when they would hit the set on the flop, and for me personaly the worst thing is when I lose against AK who hit the straight on the flop like 3QT 5 J...it happened to me few days ago...this is happening a lot more often online than in a live game, I noticed. I have never folded rockets though, but I never judged people who are doing this because after all it's their money and second thing they must have good reason to do so. I would not agree with someone above who said that when you have rockets, you should pray for as many players in the pot as you can get, because rockets really do go down in value with every additional player that joined the pot.

If you want to play poker you can't fold AA preflop, but it's sure you can loose with AA, you prefer keep your position but i think it's bad play. If you fold AA preflop with what card you play?????

KJ No way i'ld have done it. When you play, you play to win and you play hard!! Only in 1 situation i would fold them and that's IF 8/10 players went all in and have the same amount of money, as one of those on the table makes a2pair/flush/straight or something. Given the fact that this situation is virtualy impossible i would'nt lay down. Maybe if five or more players would go all in, otherwise you're ahead preflop, and i want to win.
OEPS! I'm your huckleberry, thats JUST my game!
five hundred.. must be a......peache of a hand....

It's pretty real to lose with AA. I go all in only then when on the flop aren't anything dangerous like KK or something.

KJ The chip leader was making a play for the short stack and bullying you. You were a clear favourite against him and I'm sure you would have taken the hand down. If there is any situation you want to be in with AA it is up against the chip leader.
It's easier to fish if you're the one casting the reel.

It's pretty real to lose with AA. I go all in only then when on the flop aren't anything dangerous like KK or something. A situation to laydown AA is if you are near the bubble with a sizeable chip stack and are faced up against 3+ opponents going allin. Although you may win the hand, the odds of suriving a multi player HU allin confronation with AA decreases significantly the more players that see the river. If you have all of them covered with enough to spare should you get cracked, then definitely call. If you would be crippled and still not in the money, then I might be able to lay them down, but still it would be tough. If you are short stacked, even close to the bubble, you are not going to see a better hand, shove your chips in. The worst time you can possibly laydown AA is when you are already in the money. Stop playing for second place, pull you sh_t together and go after first place. Put them in the middle and see what happens.
It's easier to fish if you're the one casting the reel.
