If someone gets caught up in using the words shark and fish odds are those are who you want to aim at. Usually cocky players who tilt easy and play overly agressive. At least from my exprience, it seems if someone calls you a "fish" odds are hes just trying to use poker lingo to try to fool you into thinking he has a clue what hes doing.
Sniffin' out the game... one hand at a time

That may well be true but in over a hundred hours playing online I have only seem someone called a fish three times This is on either Cdpoker or *****. Edited the non supported room out so mods don't have to, lol!

I agree rookies tilt easily, but some good players play aggressive and are not fish, but its hard to generalize these two groups because there is more involved in reading a player than just that!

A fish is someone that doesn't know how to play and will call all the way to the river with absolutely nothing and no real draw or call an all-in with an inside straight draw. Basically someone that doesn't know how to play. I've played a hell of a lot online and I haven't seen anyone call anyone a fish.

I have to agree with this apprasisal...usually they are really young and showing off...and will lose

I just look in the mirror :) Most players online at levels above $10 NL are not flat out fishes. Many players have some sort of philosophy about how to play and what cards are decent to call with. What you need to be looking for are the players that like to chase to the river and ensure that you extract the maximum amount from them when they decide to chase when you're in the hand. Keep taking chips off them and the odd time they do hit will not make up for the amount that they have already dumped to you.
It's easier to fish if you're the one casting the reel.
