Hi, I was at another site, and people were calling other players Donkies??? I assumed it was an insult, but I don't get it, What does it mean when someone is called "A Donkey"? Just curious and wonderling. Thank you in advance, mimigirl

It's derived from JackAss. So now people who are poor, or thoughtless players are called donkeys rather than JackAss to prevent a time penalty for profane language at the tables in casinos. Over the years the term has grown into the online poker world as well since most poker rooms sensor their chat.

You know Mrhigh I have a high comtempt for authority of which I don't think you have any yet post around like the forum police. Please stop, let Jeff or someone handle it if it needs to be addressed but lay off the rent a cop stuff thanks. I don't enjoy my communities heavily policed, I am enjoying the freedom to play online which may be taken away soon, let's lighten up a tad on the forums eh.
Just because I'm moody, doesn't mean you're not irritating.

Yes, we understand that you want a free place to post and just relax and have a good time as a community. But at the mean time we ask all members to follow the simple guidelines of the forum. As we don't want the forums filled with meaningless posts...it would be in the best interest for all of us if the forum was monitored to ensure that all threads and posts are relaying meaningful posts :)

The funniest part of the overly spat term of "donkey" is that the majority of the fools calling other people this are themselves just that a jackass. To many people overrate themselves as players. I admit I have a little bit of an ego. I don't put myself on a pedistal or even consdier myself better than anyone. I do however find that I have made better decisions on hands played than others many times, probably due to experience or better understanding of the game. I don't call people donkeys at the table. I have however defended myelf which I shouldn't waste my time with. I have made comment on peoples plays with previous posts that weren't flattering in my use of terms to describe them. This was more for comedic effect and a little bit of vent. I'm human I can and do lose my temper sometimes. http://forums.pokerinside.com/forums/topics/3136 http://forums.pokerinside.com/forums/topics/527 I understand people being frustrated by poor decisions and long odds suck outs made by opponents, but they have to remember that's what they bought when they put their chips on the table.
Hey you ruined my record man I just bought it!

Thers"s one at almost every table, and it seems to be breeding season,I"ve noticed the "donkey" family seems to be growing with each passing day, maybe it"s time to have open season on them and reduce some of there numbers!!

Sometimes playing like a donkey pays off for me in live games. It's small stakes though so it's easier to do that.
