About the Author
Blog Post
I have become quite the poker blog critic as of late as many of you may have noticed, I have been putting in my 2 cents and generally have not had particularly nice things to say. Well apologies to those who were taken aback or offended, my intentions were, and remain to be, pure and simple. I strive to eradicate the AWFUL bloggers and give warnings to those who come after them. If you write a crap blog purely for the sake of it, copy & paste or decide to be the fountain of knowledge on the blindingly obvious YOU STINK! And in case you don't understand that I have put it in a visual form for you below.

But fear not avid readers this is not a post full of woe, because amidst the garbage a few rough diamonds have emerged. With encouragement these writers could flourish, and we need to protect the forum so that these blogs can be enjoyed by all. Rather than having to pan for golf, as is the case at the moment. I am not here to sugar coat it I will name names and point the finger at those who need to lift their games. I will be providing evidence and quotes as to how and why the posters acheived their status.
It is to begin with what I believe to be the WORST 5:
Numero 5: FRITZSON
"It is not your fault I have my feelings, but I just have been losing to many sngs in a row. Not even one I have won in 3 days. It is strange! After 8 lost there use to be at least 1 winning.. but nooooo!!!"
"Harder to win on higher stakes" Really, here I was thinking they were going to make it easier for you.
To be honest number 5 was a close one and many people could have taken this spot but the lucky winner got over the line, due to her sheer volume of low quality unhumorous and underdone posts.
Numero 4: Rabbit Girl
"I hit 2 pairs on flop! With my luck these last days, it happens again!! The dam RIVER.COM! grrrr
Str8 for the lucky guy..
bye bye Rabbitgirl!"
"Go wabbit go!!!" What does this do for anyone seriously, it's just annoying.
Numero 3: Dingus
"Although I had cashed out over 10K worth of winnings and have not had a losing year since I started online poker, I was disappointed in my own BR management and knew something had to be done."
"Thank you for your comments, but they really are useless and if you choose not to get anything out of this, than that is your problem and you can continue dumping money at the tables to smart players like myself and those that are willing to learn."
I am sure that dingus being the smart "willing to learn" player that he is may indeed learn how to be an informed individual on anything other than the glaringly obvious. The king of bankroll management I can save you the time. You need 20 buyins. How about the king of reloading, just click the button. Also some pointers on how to select better hands, what you do is fold the bad ones. In the mans defense his blogs are well written and actually have some kind of story behind them a good guide. I just don't like the attitude of stating the obvious.
The Runner Up is: NEOPHRON
"10. Me 10. The other players at the table"
Top 10 lists stink they are not funny, not creative and are just lazy. If you don't have time to make a blog a couple of days a month how about letting us all of the hook and just leaving it till tomorrow. I think a reader of your blog put it best "Dogs > Cats. Cash Games > Tournaments. Anything > Your blog."
THE KING OF BAD BLOGS is: SHADY9977:
"A tight-aggressive game conveys a commensurate table image. If the opponents are watching, they will see that you play relatively few strong hands, but you play them aggressively. Alert players will then respect your moves, knowing that you only play strong hands and don't give up the pot without a fight. This is the desired effect of the tight-aggressive game on the middle to long term table image."
":) are u gelos? .. i'm just saying that poker bloogs should win note hote girls blogs that's all"
You will notice that in the first quote the english is perfect, the second quote is a comment posted by SHADY something he probably actually wrote, can't spell jealous and the english is as you'd expect of someone learning english as a 2nd language. I'm not saying that he copy and posts his blogs.........., wait a second that is exactly what I am saying.
"dollar/euro analogy has reached its lowest ever"
With helpful tidbits like these your average reader amy be overwhelmed by the advanced concepts being batted around.
Well this concludes our TOP5 worst bloggers, now to the bright side, the funny, amusing and sometimes awesome bloggers who make up the TOP 5.
But before we get into this I would like to make a suggestion to the people at PokerInside, I believe that the best way to clean up the blog forum would be to have the prizes awarded based on the following system:
Each blogger may make 31 posts a month (1 a day) of these only there top 10 will count towards the competition and the winners will be dtermined based on highest average score. This encourages quality over quantity and eliminates the likelihood of people posting just for the sake of it.
Now for the TOP 5 Bloggers:
Number 5: EdBear09
"Now, to my hilariously funny jokes.
So, have you ever been to the cinema and ordered a frozen coke? Of course you have. Anyway, whats the deal with the spoony straws. They keep them behind the counter and give them to you only when you get a frozen coke, which is weird because I notice all the plain straws are in front of me. What's so damn special about the spoony straws? God forbid they keep them next to the normal straws, people might just grab a handful of them and bolt. No they are onto something, the spoony straws must be behind the counter, otherwise it would be utter chaos. Come on. "
With comedy gold like this how can this guy not have his own blog, surely a sign of things to come.
Number 4: Scubes87
"The night winds down slowly and most of the people grow tired and and sick of your hero and his colleagues stealing every pot in grasp, but thats just how we roll... so I cash out with a humble sum of $650 and side up with a fellow team member who managed to get sucked out on twice for $300 a piece. Its not long before another counter part cashes out with the same amount of money after a lucky clash which could have resulted in a loss of all his chips. So the three of us stand around making idle chit chat and downing the last of the venues beers. Then suddenly a ruckus amounts and we find that our other team member hs just shoved his stack of $700 into the pot with a set of 10's and to be called for about $600 from a player with a set of 7's. Our friend doubles up to a sum of $1560 and cashes out feeling very awkward as he has just taken about a third of the games chips away from the table. But thats why they come here, so bad luck to them. The team walks away with a nice amount of over $2000 and three smiles."
This man can tell a story. Notice that he has only posted 2 blogs and I'm sure that if you read them you will find them both to be interesting. An example of quality over quantity.
Number 3: Mr High
"
"
Enough said.
Numnber 2: MOLDERZ
"He made a mistical straight and i lost again.
I am not sad, because this was another poker fun for me."
Light hearted, tells a story and is interesting. It's not that hard.
NUMBER 1 THE CHAMP: AHHH TOMMY
"i think that superman is good and was mush better then batman before.!
but now when christian bale have done batman hes so mush better. batman is a bad ass.! ;P
but the old superman vs old batman supeman is much better!"
"one of my favorite series life on mars. an englsih serie : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478942/
and abc is making a remake of the fantastic serie.
i hope its gonna be good.! i dont think it could be as good, but i hope
abc remake: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0787490/"
"my favorite actor is chrstian bale! here is hes future films
- Killing Pablo (2009) (in production) .... Major Steve Jacoby
- Public Enemies (2009) (filming) .... Melvin Purvis
- Terminator 4 (2009) (filming) .... John Connor
- The Dark Knight (2008) (completed) .... Bruce Wayne / Batman "
AWESOME. We need him back, if your out there mate your crazy off the wall blog is missed by a select few greatly.
Well now you know what to do and what not to do. So aim to be in the TOP 5 and emulate their style, SHADY this doesn't mean copy it, we already know your good at that. Thanks for your time good luck with the blogs.
For my homies

Thanks for the constructive criticism buddy, I do appreciate it. I would like to point out that I never said anything I wrote was ground breaking information. It may be obvious to you, but to many players who are still new to the game it is not obvious. If you are as knowledgeable as you seem to be, why not provide some helpful info for those players that are looking to learn?
Anyway, I hope you like my latest blog, I wrote it for you.

dingus, don't teach the fish... ;o) you are suppose to win money form her or him.... ;o) Keep up the good work dingus, because propergood is not the only one who is reading your post.

I agree whole heartedly with what proper good is saying, i may not agree with his top 5 as such, (except my entry). I do write an interesting story boys and girls i'll try and make it more colourful for those people who have attention issues, im assuming thats why some of you play online poker...
But it certainly is annoying to see that i have posted a blog not but 24 hrs ago and then go to check up on it to see that it has been pushed 50 places down the list buried in literal poop that is the bloggers of ipoker. But what can we do but whinge and whine for a little improvement...
|
 |
Just quietly Shady9977 you don't need to take this all so literally, but if you are going to make a heads up proposal with propergood I would be expected for a real pantsing. Before you guys have the match can i get a "holla" so i may view the carnage...

1. The blog Challenge isn't over, we are only half way on the month. The top bloggers might change, but not becouse you. You just affect bloggers, not admins.
2. Affecting bloggers will prolly make them get sad and you will start fighting each other like 10 year old kids. What's the point of this?
3. Censuring is blog posts is easier than grade them. Deleting this post is easier than making a comment. You should appreciate my comment.
4. PI cares about every member opinion, even if it's dumb, smart, wrong, funny, sexy or a critic. PI will never defend rude people.
5. I enourage you to make a sequel of this blog post in the future, just skip the poison and be a real critic or critisism.
From wikipedia: Criticism in terms of expectations means democratic judgment over the suitability of a subject for the intended purposes, as opposed to the authoritarian command, which is meant as an absolute realization of the authority's will, thus not open for debate.
My critic about your post: You are just authoritarian and despot. Next time give the solutions for the problematics instead of focusing only on the problems you see.

This is a quote from this blog, maybe you should read the blogs thoroughly when you do your marking.
Each blogger may make 31 posts a month (1 a day) of these only there top 10 will count towards the competition and the winners will be dtermined based on highest average score. This encourages quality over quantity and eliminates the likelihood of people posting just for the sake of it.
It is my proposed solution

Propergood, to your first quote from my blog... You might get the point if you had read the piece above. It also calls irony. Part of that blog was deleted by PI because I was over line... after that I could not delete the whole blog my self.
To the second guote, if you had done your homework you should know there are different kinds of players, and some just can't play at higher stakes... and vice versa. I am not saying I am a grinder, but I wanted you to know there was a word for those who can't play at higher stakes.
For your critic: unhumour... I am sorry that my humor doesn't fit your taste. But I will not change it. Underdone: Maybe it is my bad english or you don't understand swenglish. Maybe I can work on that. But I am not sure what you mean!
But never mind! I just wanted to tell you that you are missing poits sometimes...
You are not better then the rest of us. Now you are one of us! :oP
Sorry Vicerioid and you other from PI.. not my meaning to start a fight with this, I am just saying.
************************************************************
"A grinder is the same as a rounder. These tend to be semi-professional players that make most of their money playing poker, though they do not make much money. A grinder plays in a similar fashion as a rock. Often, these players can beat lower and mid-stakes games but can not beat or make much money at the higher stakes games."

I am by all means a grinder, never said I wasn't. I just like to talk myself up every now and then.
I just meant that some of your posts were underdone, in terms of you not putting much thought into them, everyone is guilty of this on occasions.
This is one of the reasons why we have so many bad blogs, as well as fact that poker inside rewards quantity rather than quality.
As for your humour, well i liked swenglish. So maybe i caught you on a bad day.

What you are saying is that a person making 1, 3 or maybe 5 blogs over the whole month with top score should be able to win.... over a person who has been written 10-31? fair? Soo.. hard work should not pay off in the end? I think PI is nice to let all peoples who has done at least one blog play the freeroll. I think you should at least write a couple of blogs before you can play the freeroll. It is my opinion. Let's say you have done 5 - 10 blog,... and you think you have been working hard with those.. would you be happy if there was a 1 blogger guy, only 1 blog during the whole month wins over you?? fair?
My opinion: It is a challenge over a whole month.. You are getting points for every blog you are writing.. per day. You climbing on the leaderboard for each day and blog you are writing. Some are not full score and some maybe are. It is fair... it is a challenge. Hard work pay off...
It is like a poker challenge... if you skip playing 1 day you are losing your position on the totally leaderboard, because other keep playing and climbing over you. You are getting point for the daily positon you end up on... Some days your playing is not good and some it is great... but you are getting points for how well you are playing and were you end up after the day.
I think it is fair enough. Keep blogging and you might win.

Thank you for the explaining.... Now I understand what you are saying! And also... I am happy for you mention my name in you blog! That means that you are giving me some attention.. and your fans will check my blogs.. and maybe I can steal your fans now! Thank you! PR is always good, even if the critic sucks... :o*
