Blog PostThis strategy will only work in freerolls or MTTs with bad players, but if you use it you will be able to make the one or the other extra buck for your bankroll. So it starts with the low blind levels, you usally got 75-100 big blinds stack and you have time to wait for a very good hand. In the first 30 minutes you should only play hands like 88+ or AQ+,play them very, very aggressive preflop,if you are in early position you could also think about shoving right away. After 30 minutes there are still alot of very bad players or beginners, and they will call you with every A/rag or something like that. You shouldn't play lower pockets than 88 because many bad players push very often, and you can't call with 33 or something like that,if you wanna money many freerolls After 30 mins, and serval folds obv. (if you didn't catch a hand),some of the bad players are already out,the bad players who are still in did build now already a very huge stack, players in the average are usally players who have an idea of poker and were tight for the average freeroll level. So you must now see how huge the stack of your opponent is in your chooise which hands you play. If you play against an average stack you should still play only good hands, you can of course play a little bit more hands than in the first 30 mins, but still not bader than KQ or AT..You could now also limp low pockets because there is not that much pushing preflop anymore. But if somebody raises only call if you must not pay more than 1/15 of your stack. After the first break, the blinds are now a bit higher, and you should start playing a normal MTT strategy now, like you would play a $2 MTT or something like that..Almost all players who usally haven't an idea of playing poker are now out,the ones who are still left you can see at the chipstacks, they should now have built a stack way above the average, and you will be able to see how loose they play now.If you got a stack of like 40-50 big blinds wait for a very good hand now,and then make a small raise, like 2.5BB,the loose bigstack with usally call now or reraise, and then you got him,and can double up on him. Then, when the blinds became higher (I mean when 1BB is circa the stack you started the freeroll with),EVERY of the loose, bad players whoud be out now,and if not, they will be soon,it's not often that a player who hasn't an idea to play be that lucky and get the final table. So you should start just playing your style now.You are also maybe already in the money (depends on the site, payout structure, how much players,...),so you should ask yourself now "do i only want to stay in the tourney as long as possible?Or do i wanna take this down??".This is your chooise now.If you just wanna stay in the tourney, only play premium hands from now (means only AQs+,99+).But I would suggest to try to take it down.Like I said, you are normally already in the money, and it's a freeroll,so you already got free cash.If you wanna take it down, the most important thing is now: "play your position" You must now play more your position on the table than playing your cards. You can now also push with some bader hands than you should do at the beginning, because there are now a few good players also in,which you could take some blinds.Espacially at the final table, you will see, that the players suddenly will become more aggressive in the most times.Sorry, but I really don't know why..lol.So if you wanna make some money steps, just relax and watch them how they take out each other. When you are down to 4-5 players, the main word is now AGGRESSION,you MUST push many hands now,if nobody raised before it's your turn, push some times every A,K with a good kicker and of course every pocket...of course not too often because the opponents will call you one time with any 2 just to see what do you push with. At the HU,just play your normal HU style, play how you usally play HU,my way would be raise every hand better than Q7 (the average hand),means every K,every A,pocket,JT,...ANd only fold trash like 8 4 or something like that in the small blind.
Try the strategy,it helped when I played freerolls and gave me some extra bucks :)
Thanks for reading and gl on the tables ;) Commenting closed for this blog post. Comments (0)There are no comments
