I enjoy large poker tournaments. I understand the chances of winning are slim, but that is part of the reason to play them. It is a simple idea of risk and reward. When playing a cash game if your up you can leave with the chips in your pocket, however, if your in a tournament being the chip leader does not always mean money.

I play more for fun than trying to take home the prize so when I get knocked out it is disappointing, but it is not like I care about the money. I was playing a tournament at party poker and was dealt pocket QQ first hand. After a 5x raise and a few calls action is to me on the button. Knowing low limit multitable tournaments I know I have the best hand, it all lies in luck.

I push all-in. All of the players that called the 5x raise don’t even blink when I re-raise 14x the bet. 3 callers vs my QQ. Player A has A3 off, B has A6, and C has KJ. I am in a good situation preflop, only 2 over cards leaving 5 over cards that could beat me. The window is a K and I was done.

The moral of this story is not to say how bad other players are, but instead to show that you can not avoid a poker maniac no matter where your playing so just learn how to play with the maniacs and learn to be an etiquette player, no one likes a a$$hole in the chats
