I have tried to get my girlfriend to play poker for awaile now(we can call her E from now on)

She did som playing a year ago and it went pretty good, with the right motivation i think that she can be a good pokerplayer, and its my job to bring it out of her.

Yesterday it was finally time, she sat down with the laptop infront of the tv at 22:00. She started up the VC-poker klient(bankroll, 12$), they had change network since last time and she was a bit rusty, so she wanted my help to get going.

E wanted to give 7-card stud a test, she had see playing it and thought i look like fun. I sat down beside her like a driving instructor, guiding her trough the game, telling her when to  raise, fold and call. After 45min we(i) had turned her 12$ into.......4$.

Lets try limit holdem i said, and 15 min later she had 2$ left. I sneak out of the room saying, its maybe better you play bye your self. She sat there, staring at the screen saying with a sad voice,"my money, is all gone" She was a like a thundercloud, and in a really bad mood.

I sat down at the other computer, i registerd for a 5$ buyin tournament holdem, 3000 guaranteed. It was 1000people registerd, and i felt it was time to win some big money for once, my luck has been gone for a long time now.

I listen for signs of life from the other room, i didnt heard a sound. She probaly was back playing 2$ SnG 6 seats nolimit holdem, she played it  in the past.

The tournament stated well, i had double up KK vs JJ, but the game was pretty wild, so i just sat back and waited for good hands

I heard sounds from the other room, yes! was the word i heard, maybe things were going better now.

The tournament went on, i was around the 100 place with 500 left, 132 got money.

"Gotcha, i knew you were bluffing" i suddenly heard from the other room, maybe  the clouds were movig away and the sun begin to break trough

"How is it going? i" asked . "better than when you helped me" was the short answer

I was up at place 19:e, a good position for the rest of the game. But got into a clash with the chipleader(stay out of people with big stacks, they usually have more luck than the others), and it cost me half the stack. He hit the flush on the river and my three 9´s was pretty useless. Time was flying, i must be up at 05:45 so its not gonna be much time for my beautysleep.

The sun was shining over E´right now " What, you tried to bully me?, well this is whats happens when you tries that" She obviosly had recoverd well, and was trashtalking her opponets, i was proud.

I stuggled in the tournament, i was 150/200 . The game was much tighter now and i dint get any good opportunity to makes some moves.. I only had 400 and the blinds was 100/200. Finally the bubbled burst and i was ITM, 9$ was guaranteed, and now it was full speed ahead. I got KK and put all my chips in the middle, i got called . AK was his hand and the A came on the river. I was out.

A few mistakes stopped me from getting higher, hopefully i can eliminate all mistakes the next tournament and get alittle more thna 9$

Meanwile E is dominating here sng, she slowplaing a two pair and tricks her aggresive opponet to move allin, she calls and wins the tournament. 18$ is her bankroll when she finish playing. It gonna be interesting to follow her in the future.

02:00 we goes to bed, i tape a WPT episod that we watches , its when Alan Goehring takes his second title, a very funny player, if you mix Cheavy Chase looks and humour with the playing style of Gus Hansen you get the idea what he is all about.

We turn the light of and beging to drift into sleep "whats the time" i said, and from the darkness i hear a very tired voice who says: " 02:22, i got trips, quads" I smile to my self, i unleashed a monster, it´s alive, it´s alive!!

Posted on May 13th 2008 by fritzson I hope you two can share the same interest. It must be easier... I was thinking if I should fix an account to my partner.. and let him play a little. He have the interest, but don't want to play with money. heh..He is to lazy to get his own account.
