I had this idea in my mind for quite some time now, and its still in a raw form, but i thought it would be worth posting. My idea is...

No Limit Cap Sng's

Cap? Cap? What the hell is Cap? will some of you probably be thinking now. Cap games are (or thats how I know them) cash games, with a limit on how much u can bet. Lets say your playing a $0.10/$0.25 - $7.50 Cap No Limit Holdem cash game. The limits are obvious, but becouse the cap is at $7.50, a player cant bet more then $7.50, even if they have a bigger stack. If the cap is reached, then that player is considered allin.

Ok so now you know what Cap games are. Now i want to incorporate that into SNG's! The idea is that this means that when you lose an "allin", this doesnt mean the end of the game yet. This will insure that bad beats and lucky 1 outer losses can be minimized, becouse u still have a stack left to fight your opponent with.

The easiest game to incorporate Cap in is of course Heads Up games. Since there are only 2 players, and the average stack doesnt change. (it does in HU shootouts, but that doesnt matter becouse when u meet your next opponent everyone is tied again) I was thinking that in a regular $5.50 HU Cap game (1500 starting stacks) with a $500 Cap (so you cant bet more then 500 a pot, max pot is thus 1000). This would mean that you have 3 chances (if u move in 3x in a row o/c). Ps comments about Cap level or something else are always welcome, but please do rationally explain why your way would be a better way.

But then there are 9 man- 18 man- 27 man- 45 man SNG's. If you take a predetermined cap amount, this will of course slow the games terribly down (final table 45 man sng, every1 has 15K, if the cap limit is still 500$ as it was when it begun, it would take an aweful lot of time before every1 got knocked out, which wouldnt attract very much players (which is my goal DUH ) So i was thinkin about a steady stack percentage of 1/3 (33.3333%) This would mean that in the beginning stages of the game, the cap was equal to all. But as the game progresses, stacks alter from each others (chip leaders, short stacks) and every1 would get a different Cap. You can realise that this wasnt going to work. So the Cap should be 1/3 of the Average stack! As the game progresses, and the numers slink, the Cap would evenly progress with the rest of the players. So when the average would rise to $3000, the cap would be $1000. It would certainly bring a new flavour to the game!

So thats pretty much what i had in mind. Please comment as much as you can, but dont tell me that certain aspects of my idea suck, without using constructive critisism. I would love to hear all your opinions!

I don't like the cap idea coz I want to be able to bet the pot always.

Still other players might find your idea useful.

Byes keep it on pal! =D
