Oh, wow,... that was words and not songs! But I have to agree with you Rab... The Money should go to "hard working bloggers".... I think it is ok to use text from a bok, magzine or website on internet if it is quoted and the source is given.. and there must be some kind of reflection of the quoted text.

Well Rab,
i think u are completly right!

1. of all to copy anything out of the internet touches the copyright of the true-author - that why it is illegal to publish s.th. without telling the author!
2. Why do you people think that the staff in here minimized the daily-blog-possibility to 1 entrance per day?!
3. Why do you work that hard and copy the textes - if you would get the same blog-points by editing a text with the links to that internet-side - lol
4. Don't you people have experiances enough at the poker-rooms you play, to create your own ideas??? - than you shouldn't talk about the gaming of other players ...

and now pls excuse my bad english - i hope u got my meaning ...
best regards
voatanas

lol!!!!!!!

aaahahAHaHAHAAHAAH

Nothing illegal on doing that Rabbiit. There is not rule regarding that.

THE BAD PART IS THAT THE USER DON'T SAY THE SOURCE (AS LONG AS ITS UNIQUE ON INTERNET IF YOU COPY YOUR POKER BOOK IS LEGAL IF YOU SAY THE SOURCE)

That's what I said - PI-Viceroid ...
the word source I was missing in my bad english!
In Germany every stolen copy of any kind is illegal! - The copyright-theme was very hard discussed and now we have laws against downloads of every kind, which are not given free by the author or producer (up to 5 yrs. prison) ...
That's why emule, winmx and other p2p-progs don't exist inner Germany ...

And if you copy s.th. and tell the source you are not save at all! - The author may stop you publishing his text without given the allowence to copy it and he may put you into a regress-process ...

That' s the GERMAN LAW!!!

And now the GOOGLE-Translation of the Copyright-Site:
"http://www.www-kurs.de/urheber.htm" (GERMAN-SOURCE)

Thus, in Germany since the 13th September 2003 the new copyright law.
It was added to the law governing copyright in the information society ":
* Strafbar who makes - whether commercial or private, whether or not data - such as music, movies, software or computer games - the Internet offers to download and disseminated without so entitled to do so.
* The crack or bypass a copy (for example, from PC games, music CDs and video DVDs) is prohibited. This also applies to private copies for their own use or the closest family and friends. Those who have a copy bypasses, according to law, not punishable, but with claims of rights-holders.
* "Anti-copy protection" programs or devices according to the law may no longer be sold.
* Also, no private copies of "manifestly illegal sources' time. This is especially exchanges and peer-to-peer services (such as eDonkey, Morpheus or Kazaa) on the Internet meant the tens of thousands of music and movie titles and software for free download.

* Author of a work, according to the copyright law in Germany and Austria who created it.
* That he enjoys the full protection of copyright.
* Unlike in the Anglo-American countries where the copyright through registration in a copyright register must be documented, is a special registration, in Germany and Austria is not necessary.
* If you publish a work, you should consult with a copyright notice on your rights to point out.

Here, for instance, a particularly dreister case of multiple violations of copyright law
Mr. D., according to its own figures freelance lecturer of a computer company and a chamber of commerce in the Eifel, served the download version of this course.
* He removed original copyright notices or references to the author.
It is embellished with foreign feathers: Under the link "About the Author" published his address and telephone number.
* He changed course on all sides the page header (own logos, links and e-mail address), where the contents were essentially unchanged.
* "His version was illicitly on a publicly accessible Web site of the computer science department (paid by taxpayers) are in a university.
* In addition, unauthorized copies on CD to the participants of the course passed.

You see it is forbidden and illegal!!!

We have copylaw in Sweden too.. I think there are almost the same everywhere.. I didn't have the energy to translate or anything. I read about it in a webdesign course last year. :o) Ehum.. or was it the year before.. I don't know. I have read about it tho. :oD

hey fritzson - nice to read u again ...

yes I think nearly the same law is existing everywhere ...
That's why I think - PI-Viceroid's comment is very critical ...

To copy and paste out of the internet always is allowed if you ask the author or producent of a publishing and he gives his ok!
Everything else is steeling of other people thoughts!

The owner of a WebSite in Germany is as responsive for the intrances at his WebSite, as those who put them into the "Chat, Forum, Blog, GuestBook ..."
These are well tools in the fight again childporn - and so I am really one of the programer and admins who feature this laws ...
You don't think about what work it is to follow every links-deep to the 5th step of every website and every server u have to admin, for getting a cleaner internet ...
But in here I'm normally only a private person who wants to play his pokergames and talk about them ...
The discussion about law and what u have to think about - is my daily job - I think I don't need it really in here ...

Best regards
voatanas

normally i try to get my freetime in here - but such discussions really bring my worktime back ...

I read ur profile and would like to know - what kind of teacher u are studying: preschool, highschool, college? and what cases will you give?

I think that maybe the blog challenge has caused some ill will amongst bloggers. I thought the point was to write your thoughts on poker so that other players on PI could benefit from the dialogue and the information and hopefully try and use it in there own game.

I hope that this is the point of players blogging and giving there information. Maybe too much money is being given for the top prizes and making it to much of a competition and not healthy discussion.

I know that it was worth reading the blogs from my perspective and feel that many players made some excellent contributions to the poker forum. I certainly believe that if everyone looked at the blogs more from an information sharing perspective everyone would be better off.

Certainly copying from a website should not be prohibited and I thought that was clear and those blogs would be receiving a ZERO rating. That was just my understanding going into the challenge last month!!

I thought you did a nice job with your posts Rabbit. Hope you continue to blog!!

Now I got it ...
European right is another one than US-CAN-AUS rights ...

In US-CAN-AUS u have to register your publishings, to have a copyright ...
The new European right says that there is no registration needed ...
Europe says, the author of a text has all it rights - that's why it is illegal to copy and publish anything of it ...
The US - and the other rights say you have to register your copyright - else nobody protects you ...

Right now we should ask - which international LAW is to accept?

Ok - I think that is very simple:

those who aren't restricted by law should use it possibilities ... - the US-CAN-AUS- folks can use the textes, which aren't copyrighted in a register ...
the European folks have to have a look at the law and only can publish their own skripts - nothing else without telling sources ...

Don't ask why it is like this and it doesn't help to "yaya"
